I went up to Mt. Hood with my dad the week before Christmas (we skied Timberline). In the words of the young ski patrolmen that i rode up the lift with it was an "Epic" day. My dad and I had a great time, there was a ton of fresh snow (that stayed sweet all day) and sun.
This is at the top of the Magic Mile, the lift that goes a mile above timberline. Usually its pretty crusty and wind blown up here and the weather changes about ever five minutes. While we were up there was fog/clouds, freezing fog, wind, snow and sun. Despite those changes it was some of the best snow I've ever experienced in the NW.
You can barely make out the lift behind me but thats Palmer. Totally famous, but rarely open, when I'm around.
Here is my Pops looking totally rad! Too bad he's rad. Too bad Mt. Hood is beautiful.
Totally HC. Dad on Skis me on my board.
